Transporting pump units

Pump, motor and baseplate may travel as one unit or in parts. We plan transport around the unit that is actually prepared and list spare pumps, motors and valves as separate items.

Plan your transport

Connection sizes and flow rate identify a pump but do not replace the outer dimensions of the unit being moved. Identical pumps can have different drive or frame versions, so record each unit’s identifier rather than just the series. A spare motor handed over in addition should not disappear under the term pump package. Clarify with the operator whether the pump will be handed over drained and flushed.

Are connection sizes sufficient dimensions?

No. They describe the pump’s interfaces. For planning we need the outer dimensions and weight of the complete unit with motor and frame, as it will be prepared for collection.

A replacement unit, such as a gearbox, spindle or hydraulic power unit, is a transport item in its own right, even if it is intended for a large plant. We plan transport based on its own data and your required date.

Hydraulic oil, coolant, grease or fuel in a machine are relevant to transport planning. Clarify with the operator and releasing party in what condition the machine will be handed over, and mention open questions in the enquiry.

Your machine’s weight determines the vehicle, loading equipment and load securing. We therefore need the weight of the unit actually handed over with its equipment, ideally per package and with the source stated.
