Plan your transport

Assign tool holders, work-holding, documentation and spare parts to a machine or order item. Number boxes that are already packed and list unpacked parts explicitly. A photo of open boxes helps with assignment but does not replace a contents list. Count a box only once, even if its contents relate to several machines, and note the split in that case.

A simple accessory list

For each item, number, description, related machine, quantity, approximate dimensions and weight, and status packed or loose are enough. You use this list at collection, on receipt and for queries alike. It also shows when a part is in the purchase contract but missing on site.

Do not forget documentation and data media

Manuals, wiring diagrams, program backups and keys are small but important for the buyer. Put them in a labelled box or folder and list it as a separate item. That way they arrive together with the machine.

What matters

  • Give each box a number and its machine
  • Count loose parts separately
  • Flag differences from the purchase scope
